Things have been a bit hectic for the past few days because we are planning to head off on a one month long camping trip with the toddler in tow. We are going to a wedding in Noosa and decided to do one of the classic Australian road trips up the east coast to make a holiday out of it rather than flying in and out.
We are planning to head from Canberra (Australia’s capital city) and visit Gosford, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Noosaville, the Gold Coast, Yamba, South West Rocks and maybe a quick stop at the Hunter Valley on the way home. I have childhood memories of baking away in the back of mum’s (un-airconditioned) car doing this same trip most summers through the 80s and 90s. I like the nostalgia and I like the fact that this will give us an opportunity to really unplug from the rat race to assess who we want to be as a family.
I also see this as a chance to have a lot of experiences while livimg a pretty simple life so hopefully that will flow back to our home life too.
I am really excited for this little break (although the weather forecast is looking AWFUL!) and I hope you might enjoy hearing about some of the places we stop along the way and maybe take some inspiration to plan your own journey.
